Open Beta Date Announced For Upcoming Square-Enix MMO

In the final stages of the private beta, Square Enix has announced a date for the open beta of Wakfu. The turn-based MMO will be coming to PC on  January 4th of 2012.  Wakfu takes place 1,000 years after Dufus, it’s previous successor, that released in 2004 and was a hit with over 25million users.

A spin-off to the Wakfu series was also released on XBLA earlier this year. The character classes and profession will be similar to Dufus, and will sport a free to play based model, with a 6$ monthly fee for premium content.
