SW:TOR Users Experiencing Hiccups With Their Codes
Hopefully, you are not one of the new owners of Star Wars: The Old Republic that is still unable to play because you are having problems with registration codes.
It appears that people that have paid for their game are not all receiving their codes that will let you play the popular mmo. Could this be a planned way to manage server stability from EA? More than likely not.
People that have purchased hard copies of the game and some of those that have purchased the digital version are finding that they either do not have the codes included in the software or the digital versions are simply not working. Now that I think of it, smells like pirates.
For those of the users that got the digital version, their error generally is stating that their code has already been used or not even showing a record of the game being bought. If there is no record of the purchase from origin, just check your bank statements. that is generally proof enough for them to realize that they have your money. Unfortunately, it generally does take some pushback to get what you want from big corporations.
What is EA/Bioware saying about this? They aren’t officialy saying anything at the moment, however, if we do see a continuance of these reports they should feel compelled to try to get to the bottom of it. If they wanted to they could always try to locate the IP addresses of the “contested” codes and shut down the ones that are questionable. Currently, they are simply referring users to the FAQ to make sure that their users just did not miss something simple.
I hope that all of you that are playing this are not experiencing any problems but if you are, feel free to chime in and let us know.
