Remember the old days when companies would release games that worked right out of the box? How naive of us to think such a thing could still happen today. At least Nintendo is giving us a slightly different approach to fixing the problem.

When it became clear that Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword had some issues with its save system, Nintendo set out to fix the issue. Rather than releasing a patch a la the Xbox or PS3, Nintendo has created an entire Wii Channel for the issue. The “Zelda Data Restoration Channel” will be available through the Wii Shopping Channel, and will allow you to send Nintendo your save data and have them repair the issues within the file for you. At least it’s an innovative way to solve a problem that shouldn’t happen.
