Generally when there happens to be pre-order content with new releases video games, we usually get it in the form of some skin or alternate costume for the in game characters.

Soul Calibur 5 is coming out soon and instead of giving away special weapon packs or something, they are going even further and introducing new characters to the mix. For Best Buy, they are introducing some guy who looks like a circus ringmaster. My guess is that if he is, its just a day job. His name is Lord Geo Dampierre and he was revealed earlier this year from Namco. You might also remember him from the Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny on the PSP. Well, this character will be yours if you manage to pre-order the game through Best Buy.

The timing of Best Buy revealing this makes me wonder if this character will be one of the weaker entries of store specific bonuses. It does give Best Buy a head start to taking pre-orders but it just might be because the characters specific to Amazon.com and Gamestop might be more compelling for customers to purchase. I guess we will find out in a few days.

Soul Calibur 5 will be available on the PS3, and 360 on January 31st.
