Miyamoto’s Legacy Will Continue With an Announcement Next Year
Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the Mario and Zelda series is not retiring according to rampant speculation throughout the internet the past few days. In fact, nothing can be further from the truth.
Miyamoto is currently finishing up with the worldwide release of Zelda: Skyward Sword. When he is completely finished with that he has said that he is not finished with making games. In an interview with Wired magazine, he had stated that he is long from finished from developing his next epic conquest which he is going to start in 2012.
One notable mention in this interview is that he said that when he begins the development of this game, he plans to present it within a year. What type of game could it be? Well, If he plans to keep the development under 5 years and still produce the same level of quality all signs would point toward a mobile or iOS type of game. However, we will still have Pikmin 3 to look forward to tide us over in the meantime.
I hope that whatever it is, its nothing short of great. How’s that for reasonable expectations?
