Another Reason to play FFXIII-2 | FFXIII

It’s roughly a month and a half away until we here in the states will be able to play the sequel to the latest Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy XIII-2. Now, with it just around the corner in Japan, producers are revealing more details regarding additional elements that will hopefully compel you to add this to your collection.

In an interview with Dengeki PlayStation, director Motomu Toriyama and producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed new information about the sequel. As it turns out, even though many of you have had mixed feelings about XIII you will be happy to know that all that effort was not in vain. Your save file, whether you completed the game or not, will unlock items for you to use in XIII-2. Two items that were spoken about were the ability to have special monster decorations unlocked and increase your chances at gambling. Hopefully there is more where that comes from, but nonetheless its nice to see them finally putting this into their products.

They are also improving the save system greatly compared to the previous game. Now, in addition to the save at any time function, they are also incorporating Auto Save for those of us that love to barrel through the story and ignore actually saving your progress.

Finally they also announced the addition of a New Game+ Mode. You can expect it to have the same functionality of games with similar play modes. You know, keep all your items, levels and in some cases, play the story through with another character. This has not been confirmed but who knows, I just want an all Moogle party!

Please be good, please be good, please be good!  Oh hell, I’m still gonna buy it.
