You know The Old Republic right? You may have played one of the weekend Betas or have been keeping tabs on it in the news sphere. Well, could you sleep at night knowing that EA won’t profit from it? Well, at least that’s what Mr. speculator pants Bobby Kotick claims.

Lucas is going to be the principal beneficiary of the success of Star Wars. We’ve been in business with Lucas for a long time and the economics will always accrue to the benefit of Lucas, so I don’t really understand how the economics work for Electronic Arts

Yep, George Lucas himself is apparently going to pocket all that money from The Old Republic, or so says our speculator Mr. Kotick. For those of you who know all the economics of MMO’s, what do you think? Is The Old Republic going to be profitable for EA? Is Kotick right in thinking that Mr. Lucas is going to have some more money padding his pockets?
