Nintendo may have finally bounced back after a little bit of a rough patch. On the backs of their classic franchises, they’re setting sales records across the board. The latest was Super Mario 3D Land, the 3DS title that received rave reviews from critics and gamers alike. The game set a sales record for the portable versions of the Mario series, breaking 500,000 sold in it’s first week.
The game sales also benefited from some solid 3DS sales numbers (or vice versa), as Nintendo saw an increase of 325% in 3DS sales from the previous week before the Mario launch. Forget Stella because Nintendo’s got their groove back.
