In an interview with AOL, Nintendo of America COO and President Reggie Fils-Aime said that the company is currently working on mass market titles for the Nintendo 3DS, that will hopefully recreate the buzz from games like Brain Age for the DS.
“My expectation is that, come E3, I think we’ll be showcasing a range of different titles that, for a more casual consumer, they’ll see reasons to jump on board with the Nintendo 3DS,” Fils-Aime said.
“Will there be content to appeal to consumers 50 plus the way Brain Age did? Absolutely,” Fils-Aime confirmed. “Will there be content that’s going to appeal to women the way we are able to do with the DS? Absolutely.”
With big core titles now on the horizon for the 3DS, and Nintendo’s plans for breakthrough, casual titles for next year, it should be interesting to see how the 3DS performs in 2012.
