MW3 bans over 1600 users, too bad I still suck.
In order to help the online user experience in Modern Warfare 3, Activision has issued bans to over 1600 players of its popular online shooter. This banishment came about after many players had found some cheap exploits in the game that let them kill other players through hacks and other means.
In a preemptive response to the bans, community manager Robert Bowling released this on twitter “Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in [Modern Warfare 3] will not be tolerated.” He went on to speak about the process stating, “Reporting [cheaters] in-game through [Modern Warfare 3] goes directly to our security team, who issues the bans directly after verifying,” Bowling noted. “Every ban unique to the level of douchiness of the offense. The greater the douche, the greater the length. PermaDouche possible.” Lets just hope they round up all these douches so we can play the game in peace.
EA team with Battlefield 3 did a similar ban last week with thousands also banned in order to improve the online experience for users that play the game fairly.
It’s great to see these teams try to keep their projects to a high level of online quality but at the same time, if everyone happens to be better than you, its still not fun.
