Nintendo to PETA: It’s a game. Relax.
If you haven’t heard yet, PETA has not been too happy with Nintendo regarding the new Super Mario 3DS game and his choice to wear a suit made of Tanooki. We all have come to understand that PETA can be somewhat sensitive regarding when anyone wears fur, and this goes for fictional characters too.
Well, now Nintendo is responding to the statements from PETA and the response from one of their spokespeople is as follows: “Mario often takes the appearance of certain animals and objects in his games.”
“These have included a frog, a penguin, a balloon and even a metallic version of himself. These lighthearted and whimsical transformations give Mario different abilities and make his games fun to play. The different forms that Mario takes make no statement beyond the games themselves.”
It’s easy to assume that In the world of Mario, he has all of the conveniences that exist in our world. In fact, if you have played the games, you will notice that there is no mall to go shopping at to make your animal free clothing purchases. It is a more barbaric world that resembles cave man days where you just have to stick to the rudimentary rules of killing your food and in his case, wearing it.
