Irrational Games in No Rush for Bioshock Film Adaptation

For a company called “Irrational,” these guys sure seem level-headed. With other AAA gaming titles like Assassin’s Creed and Uncharted making their way into the realm of film, Ken Levine and the Bioshock team have “no burning desire” to push the game to the silver screen.

Despite once being close to having a film adaptation for the hit franchise– “we had a deal in place and a director,” said Levine– he and his team don’t want to have the game given the Hollywood treatment unless it’s going to be done right. “For us and for Take-Two, it’s really got to be something that will a) give the fans something that they want, and b) for those who don’t know BioShock, really introduce them to something that is consistent with the game, and is it going to be a good representation of the game,” Levine insisted.

While this type of response should kill off any rumors for the time being, wait for them to start back up the second Bioshock: Infinite hits store shelves in 2012.
