Make sure to steer clear of EA’s humongous ban hammer, as they’ve been swinging it freely across every platform for Battlefield 3. Hackers, cheaters, and glitchers are spared not from the righteous axe of quality control. EA has taken on a “zero tolerance policy” for their hunt.
Thus far, the team has sniffed out “hundreds” of game abusers who have managed to rack up tens of thousands of points in a single round. If you’ve ever gotten the invisibility glitch, you’re probably safe. Presumably because they cannot see you.
DICE is working on patching the holes of the game and fixing all the known glitches that have been discovered thus far. In the mean time, play fair. Otherwise you’ll land a dishonorable discharge.

“If you’ve ever gotten the invisibility glitch, you’re probably safe. Presumably because they cannot see you.” – That gave me a pretty good chuckle, so thanks for that!
I’ve managed to get 9000 in a game (scoreboard points) once, but I’ve never reached the 10k mark. Nor have I ever seen anyone else break the 10k mark (this is on 360). Is the wrath of the banhammer being seen mostly on PC?
More than likely. Cheating is always more rampant on the PC because of mods/hacks being more accessible, but EA is claiming their cracking down everywhere.
