Black Friday deals point to new system release?
According to the Black Friday ads that are starting to show their faces, we will be in for quite a treat this year.
The biggest deal that has been shown so far is coming from multiple retailers so it might be safe to assume that it is an entirely new SKU from Microsoft. The Xbox 360 250GB system is being listed on BestBuyand Sam’s Club for $199.99. With this type of pricing being shown packaged with two pretty darn good games: Fable 3 and Halo: Reach.
This kind of price drop is going to lend itself to speculation that Microsoft is ready to start clearing out their stock of systems in preparation for their next upcoming system release. Since it is not specific to any one retailer it would be safe to guess that something is coming around that Q4 corner. We saw this back in 2004/2005 when the price for the original Xbox went down to 199.99 that fall in preparation for the imminent release of the 360 the following year. Lets just hope that other manufacturers are seeing this as a motivational tool to help them bring out their new consoles as well.
