Oh statistics, you’re so great. Did you know that a cow is 74% water? That a potato is 80% water? That the Wii makes for 45% of mega-publisher Ubisoft’s business?
In an interview with Gamasutra, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot revealed one of these facts to the world. I’ll let you guess which…
Carrying those bags of cash — uh, I mean, this momentum forward, the CEO expressed his good faith regarding Nintendo’s console future, the Wii U, on two fronts.
“One is for high-end games, where we’ll be able to do a game for the Wii U, but also for other [high-definition] machines, but also with specific use of [Wii U’s] tablet. Two, is we like the Wii U for all the [potential of] casual games.”
No reason to banish the Wii U to the depths of casual gaming perceptions, at least not where Ubisoft is concerned. Might we see a breaking of the status quo, wherein Nintendo’s consoles often miss out on hardcore action games? Let’s hope so.
