Madden Curse May Have Claimed Another Victim
Every year, EA announces the next player that will grace the cover of their juggernaut football franchise Madden NFL, and every year that player cowers in fear for the entire season because of the hex that EA has placed on them. Since 2001, every cover athlete has experienced an injury or severe drop off in production. 2012 is looking like it won’t be the exception to the rule.
Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis could be missing more time this year, after sitting out two games with a hamstring injury. He re-aggrevated the injury during practice last week and may be seeing more of the game from the sideline than the line of scrimmage. Odds are good he won’t be back in a Cleveland jersey next year, as the team is apparently sick of his attitude and issues. Strange considering how well liked he was previously. Perhaps being on the cover of Madden went to his head, or maybe it’s just another part of the curse.
