Capcom has released a new gameplay video of everyone’s favorite half-demon via their YouTube channel, and DmC: Devil May Cry seems stylized for a departure from the series. Black hair coupled with a much more believable outfit make for a younger Dante sure to raise eyebrows, perhaps ingratiating long-time fans along the way. If you’re among them, you’ll want to turn to Devil Trigger mode (starting at 1:54) and wonder what may have been!

Other firsts: the reboot will not be developed internally by Capcom, and uses Unreal Engine 3. The project is confided to English Studio Ninja Theory, which may explain the Union Jack on Dante’s jacket at the 1:00 mark. The decision also adheres to Capcom’s recent game plan of saving original IPs for internal development, while being publisher alone for certain sequels.

Dante will be reacquainting himself with Ebony and Ivory on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime in 2012. Be sure to check back with GotGame as events unfold.
