While the Rockstar team has given plenty of in-game miles for gamers to travel over the course of their Grand Theft Auto series, they aren’t ready to let the game itself travel too far. According to a recent interview with Dan Houser, the game will probably remain in the USA as it has since Grand Theft Auto III.
With Liberty City (New York City) being visited twice and San Andreas (Los Angeles) and Vice City (Las Vegas) both getting the game treatment once a piece, GTA has explored a lot of the major cities in the US. Houser believes that’s an important element of the game, though. “There are very interesting crime stories and other stories you can tell about anyplace in the world. Whether that would work with Grand Theft Auto — when so much about Grand Theft Auto is about the Americana, about the American media — is something I’m not sure about,” Houser stated.
So don’t except too many crazy accents to be thrown about in the next GTA game, unless it stars another crazy Russian.
