Playstation 4 Game Development Has Started

by on October 21, 2011

While the PS4 hasn’t officially been announced yet, it appears that hasn’t stopped game studios from starting work on next gen releases. According to sources, several games are entering the early stages of development already.

The first to start working on games, according to Develop, are Sony’s in-house production teams. This would make sense, as third-party studios would probably just be guessing at this point. Despite the start on game development, it’s not believed that a new system will see the light of day until 2013 at the earliest. Probably a good idea for Sony to get a head start though and hopefully have launch titles that don’t suck.

There is no way developers are working on PS4 games. The hardware is not even near finished, I doubt it’s passed a 10% completion. The original source actually stated that game CONCEPTS are being worked on, which is pretty obvious. Concepts is the first stage, there’s a major difference between developing a game and being at concept stage. This PS4 news http://playstation4.net is claiming that it wont be announced until 2015, and released in 2016. There is a lot of growth still with PS3 so I see it coming out 2015 or 2016.

I think you basically reworded the article.

“stated that game CONCEPTS are being worked on”, “Concepts is the first stage” = “entering the early stages of development.”

“claiming that it wont be announced until 2015” = “it’s not believed that a new system will see the light of day until 2013 at the earliest”

Same ideas, different ways of saying it.
