Laid off Rare Devs Start Own Studio

After taking a lay off from Rare back in February, some long time game developers have decided to start their own company.

Mark Edmonds, Chris Tilston, Ross Bury and Phil Dunne, who have had their hands on some of gaming’s most loved titles including Killer Instinct, Perfect Dark, and Halo, will now be forming Starfire Studios. They are based in  Leicestershire, England, from where they will be delivering their own creations.

The first game that will roll off the Starfire Studios assembly line will be Fusion: Genesis on Xbox Live Arcade. The game is promising to feature single-player, MMO gameplay, and over one hundred single and co-op missions. It’s a pretty ambitious start for Starfire, but these guys seem to know what they are doing. Or maybe they don’t. They did get laid off, after all.
