A new update for the Xbox 360’s Firmware has gone live today, according to UK gamers who have already been offered the update download. The download should make its way across the pond and over the entire network throughout the length of today.

Don’t get too excited about the download becoming available, though. It’s not what you think it is. The update is a small addition to the 360’s infrastructure. This is more than likely just the set up for the dashboard update that is still yet to come. The dashboard update will deliver a Windows 7 look to the system. That one is still on its way eventually.
