LA Noire Developer Shuts Down

by on October 5, 2011

Despite the undebatable success of Team Bondi’s hit LA Noire, the studio will be closing its doors. Documents have been filed with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission that indicates the studio will shut down and assets will be sold to Australian production company Kennedy Miller Mitchell.

It’s not too often that you see a studio that produces a game that sells 4 million copies go under, but it clearly wasn’t a failure in product that closed the studio. There has been internal issues at the studio for some time now, and the game has undergone a seven year development period that took quite a toll.

Who knows exactly what happened behind the scenes at Team Bondi, but what we do know is that Rockstar and Take-Two aren’t about to let a hit series go by the wayside. We’ll see who picks up the slack within the company now that Team Bondi is no more.
