New Xbox Dashboard Coming October, Featuring Web Browser

Microsoft’s vague promise of a new Xbox Dashboard this fall has become slightly less vague. We now know the update will be available in October.

Among the new features of the Windows 8-themed look of the update will be Kinect functionality and the ability to surf the web through an Internet Explorer app. This, along with the new Bing Search that is being touted as “very cool,” will be among many updates that Microsoft has been promising for this fall. We’ll see what they have to offer.
