Amazon Kindle Fire Lights Flame Under Tablet Market

Remember that tablet that Amazon was rumored to be releasing eventually? Well, they finally dropped the curtain and revealed the Amazon Kindle Fire. More than an eReader, it’s a 7-inch Android tablet with a price tag of $199. It’s competitively priced with most Android tablets and less than half of what the iPad 2 runs.

The device will have an “easy-to-use” interface and will interact with Amazon’s very own Android Appstore. What you’ll be losing on this model of the Kindle is the built in camera and microphone. There also will be no 3G access, it’s WiFi only.

Most important about this device: You’ll be able to play games on it. That’s right, one more platform for you to play Angry Birds on.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I could care less about have 3g and a camera on a tablet, and having priced at $199 will be good competition to apple’s ipad.
