Rumors have been flying for weeks that Apple was going to be announcing something. Now they have…kind of. Apple has announced that on October 4 at 10:00am at the Cupertino campus, they will announce something else. Other than that, we don’t have the slightest as to what they’re going to say.

The invitation to the event contains the phrase “Let’s talk iPhone,” so the money is on the announcement of the iPhone 5. Then  again, there’s also the floating speculation of iOS 5, the iCloud, and even the iPhone 4S in the background. For all we know, they’ll be announcing the launch of Skynet. We’ll welcome our new fruit-based overlord on October 4.
