Irrational Games has gone into their vault and uncovered an RPG/RTS hybrid that never saw the light of day, in Dungeon Duel.
An early design
The game was apparently in development back in 2002, though not many at the studio seemed to remember it at all.
Technical Director Chris Kline however, had a folder full or emails with media, such as screenshots and concept art, showing off various stages of teh game.
Some of the folks involved in the game included, art director Nate Wells, lead artist Shawn Robertson, concept artist Robb Waters, and creative director Ken Levine–not to mention Kline, of course.
The game was to have combined the strategic gameplay of RTS games with the card game format of similar RPGs.
