THQ Teaming Up With Crytek for New Homefront Title
THQ has just made the big announcement this morning that they are teaming up with developer Crytek (Crysis, Crysis 2) for the next title in the Homefront franchise.
“Selecting Crytek to take Homefrontforward underscores our strategy of working with the industry’s best talent,” said Danny Bilson, EVP Core Games, THQ. “Homefront’s unique setting and storyline captivated gamers the world over. With Crytek’s industry leading technology and legendary experience in the FPS genre, we’re supremely confident that the next Homefront will deliver that AAA-quality experience that players demand.”
With the first game in the series having been released this past March, THQ plans on releasing a new iteration in 2014 on consoles and PC.
Comments:
I read about this earlier today, and was completely taken by surprise. Did anyone see this coming?
And I sure hope they actually support this game, as opposed to the 360 version of Crysis 2 (maybe the others as well). There, they pretty much said “crap, there are some bugs. What? Fix them?! NO! Let’s GTFO!”
Wait, didn’t THQ shut down the developer of Homefront because it didn’t sell enough?
