PS Vita is region-free! Hooray!

If you have been wondering, wonder no more. Sony’s new handheld, the PS Vita, will be officially region-free! What that basically means is that you can buy the handheld for example in the US and then buy the games somewhere else – the UK, Europe or even Japan. If you travel alot or simply want to buy a game in a different country on vacation – yes, you can. This definitely is welcome, although it isn’t as shocking considering both the PSP and PS3 are region-free already. Choosing for the Vita otherwise wouldn’t make sense in the first place anyway.

As a reminder, Vita is launching in Japan on December 17th. Soon after it should arrive also to Europe and the US – probably early spring. We’ll keep you updated 😉
