Sony Entertainment Network Launches, Asks You Not to Sue

by on September 16, 2011

If you log onto Sony’s Playstation Network today, you might notice a lot of changes. The biggest change is the introduction of the Sony Entertainment Network, Sony’s jump into the multimedia market.

When you sign in, you’ll be prompted to accept a new terms of service and privacy policy which conveniently states that you will give up all rights to participate in any class action lawsuits against Sony. It looks like Sony’s strategy is to distract gamers with a shiny new network and asking them to sign away their rights to sue for damages caused from Sony’s security breach.

While it’s not an advertised feature, all of your data and information will also be transfered to the new Sony Entertainment International from Sony Entertainment America. The new server has yet to be hacked, but then again it’s only existed for a day.

Hop on and enjoy your new Playstation experience, which will probably feel a lot like your old Playstation experience but with music and video.
