PS Vita: game cases, boxarts, release dates & color variants revealed!
Out of the blue comes literally a flood of new information regarding the upcoming Sony handheld – the PS Vita. This information comes in the form of very interesting pictures, most probably taken at the 2011 Tokyo Game Show in Japan. Through these you can see, amongst other things, for the first time ever how the Vita game cases will look like. As seen above, the cases will sport a blue ribbon with the PS Vita logo on the left and the PSN logo on the right. The rest of the case is blue as well, except for the actual game boxart. In this case of Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Although obviously in Japanese, it is pretty recognizable. On the right you can see the special memory card of said game. Uncharted: Golden Abyss will be one of the many launch titles for the Vita. Specifically, as seen below, it will come out on December 17, 2011 – the same day Vita will be launching in Japan (originally reported to be just 10 days later)
Below you can see a larger picture showcasing the cases and boxart for all three titles – Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Daze and Everybody’s Golf 6. The latter will be the second launch title, also coming out December 17th. Gravity Daze, however, will most probably be released in the first half of 2012 – around February. Notice that the cases look similiar to of those for the PS3, yet they are roughly by a third smaller. That’s alot of space for a small memory card, don’t you think? I admit though, they still look great… don’t you think?
To conclude, an image showing the potential color variants has surfaced as well. Apart from the traditional black, red, orange, green, purple and grey variants seem to be what we, or at least the Japanese, will be getting come December. Which color will you pick?
