Team Meat is Done With Microsoft

After last week’s issues, Team Meat, developers of Super Meat Boy, have decided their relationship with Microsoft is probably over. This news comes with claims that the developers were mistreated by Microsoft during the release of Super Meat Boy, which they say was promised an exclusive launch week and a review from Major Nelson. It received neither.

Ed McMillen of Team Meat spoke about the topic on the Indie Games Podcast, stating, “I don’t think we’ll work with them ever again. We’ve not had one [discount] sale [on Xbox] since our initial launch, and I don’t know if that’s going to happen. Whenever we ask, and we actively ask monthly if we can be included in a sale or get any kind of promotion, they say no.”

Instead of putting Team Meat on the shelf, because no one likes to let meat just sit out, they’ll be putting their faith into Steam. Company co-founder Tommy Refenes called Steam a “f***ing powerhouse.” We’re pretty sure that’s a compliment.
