Gamers who didn’t have a heavily upgraded PC in 1997 to play the original Crysis will be happy to know that EA and Crytek have decided to release the game via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
While no official release date was given, EA says it is coming this October and will be remastered using CryEngine 3, with new lighting, effects and other visual improvements.
“We are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with Crysis. We set out to create a next-generation FPS and delivered a PC experience that became a benchmark for quality – and still is for many gamers even four years later,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek. “By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming.”
The game will be available for $19.99 or 1600 MS Points.

Never played the first one, this should be a excellent game to play
I never played it either…I tried to, but my PC was nowhere near the required specs, which was a damn shame lol.
Really enjoyed Crysis 2 though, so I’m pumped up for this.
The first Crysis was okay, every pc gamers I know got the game just for the eye candy though. Unless this will be on Games on Demand I’m not sure how Crysis will be able to reach the 2 gig limits on xbox live arcade.
Uh.. 1997? You sure about that? 😛
If that was the case, everybody would be able to play it!
