Could it be that GameStop might actually understand video games? A new report from 9to5Mac may indicate they do. According to the report, the video game retail giant will begin to carry the full line of iOS devices, including iPhones, iPads, and iPods.
The word comes along with the news that GameStop has also began accepting iOS device trade-ins in exchange for in-store credits. Odds are good that the process of bringing in the Apple line will be lead by the launch of the iPhone 5 in October.
It is unknown whether or not GameStop will be activating iPhones in-store, as Apple does have a tendency of being controlling with its customers’ purchasing experience.
All that is known for sure is that this is a big step in the direction of the embrace of iOS as a legitimate gaming platform. Casual gamers have a new store to stop in at and hardcore gamers may have some new devices to pick up and play on.
