Fable: The Journey and the Lack of Melee Combat

So, with the rumors of a controller based Fable IV spreading around the internets I thought I would complain about the game that we do know that is coming out: Fable: The Journey. Mr. Molyneux stated that there would be not melee combat for this kinect title because the “visuals and sounds” would not be enough. Wrong, sir! Wrong! This is a video game world and until you have a virtual reality chamber such as the “holodeck” in Star Trek, I’m afraid it will never be enough. The point of using the kinect is solely to use your body as a controller to give the player a deeper experience in the game than can be achieved with a controller. The kinect is nowhere near holodeck status and Molyneux should not treat it as such. Oh well, there’s no use crying over spilled milk, the deed is done and we shall see how using long range combat works in the game. However if I have to charge up a spell Peter Molyneux so help me I’ll…I’ll…do something about it!

Anyways, even if Journey is a flop Lionhead studios still has the chance to make up for it with the possible coming of Fable IV. Piece of advice Lionhead: Whatever you were thinking during Fable 2 and 3, throw those ideas out of the window. Kthxbai.
