2K Sports Announces NBA 2K12 “NBA’s Greatest” Roster
Sure, the actual NBA might not have a single game this year, but you’ll be able to live out some fantasy match ups to fill the void with NBA 2K12‘s “NBA’s Greatest” roster. The lineup was announced today by 2K Sports and it’s pretty much everything you would expect out of a list of players under the heading of “the greatest.”
The fifteen players that will be included in the game are:
- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
- Larry Bird
- Wilt Chamberlain
- Julius Erving
- Patrick Ewing
- Magic Johnson
- Michael Jordan
- Karl Malone
- Hakeem Olajuwon
- Scottie Pippen
- Oscar Robertson
- Bill Russell
- John Stockton
- Isiah Thomas
- Jerry West
Along with the iconic players, NBA 2K12 will also feature period-specific arenas and courts, signature moves, uniforms, and era-specific broadcast styles. Pre-orders also land the bonus of the 1990-91 Golden State Warriors and the 2001-02 Sacramento Kings. The only question that remains is if there will be an option to play as classic players in their current state of physical health. Playing as Karl Malone is one thing; playing as an overweight, limping Karl Malone could be just as enjoyable. Sometimes “the Mailman” delivers late.
