The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Arrives on Nov. 20

After previously stating that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword would be available this “holiday season”, Nintendo has today announced the official release date for the highly anticipated Wii title – November 20.

The game will use the Wii’s MotionPlus functionality (or the newer Wii RemotePlus) and nunchuck to control.

“The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the biggest game in the series yet,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “We’ve just scratched the surface of this massive experience, and we look forward to sharing additional details with fans as we approach the Nov. 20 launch.”

The game will include a huge world that takes place both inside dungeons and within an overworld that includes cities in thie sky, as Link will take flight with the help of a majestic bird.  Skyward Sword will setup the events of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (originally released on the N64 and most recently on the Nintendo 3DS), cited as one of the greatest games of all time.

Pre-orders for the game have now begun at retailers nationwide.

Yeah me too! Though it’s the Gamecube version I’m still playing it on a Wii so this counts in some way.
