Review: G510 Gaming Keyboard
Behold, the latest in the series of elite gaming keyboards from Logitech, the mighty G510. This beast of a keyboard contains all the necessary PC gaming features, including headphone and mic jacks, a mute button, a media control (play, stop, next, etc), a scroll wheel, an LCD display and 18 special keys to control your custom macros.
Aesthetically speaking, this thing is awesome. It looks like the sort of keyboard that would be attached to the inside of a Blackbird stealth jet. The LCD display is clear, and can provide plenty of useful services, including a Windows Media Player display (if you’re in game and want to cycle through songs), server and latency information, in-game information (like critical hit chance or a damage meter), RSS feed headlines or news headlines, a clock, a stopwatch, and more.
The keys also glow whichever color you desire (seriously), and you can set different macros to different colors. For example, my WoW settings will make the keys glow red but my FPS settings will glow blue. I suppose this wasn’t an entirely necessary feature but it’s damn cool and makes me happy.
With no detectable lag I couldn’t be happier with this thing. The only thing missing is some sort of USB dock for all those pesky external hard drives and what not. The Logitech G510 is the gaming keyboard to beat, and right now it’s twenty bucks off. Check them out at http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/mice-keyboard-combos/devices/7246.
