Gamers who still haven’t picked up a Nintendo 3DS may want to sit back and think hard about which color they want, as Nintendo has today revealed plans to release a Flaming Red version of the handheld on September 9.
The 3Ds is already available in Cosmo Black and Aqua Blue, so the new color should spice things up for the holiday season.
The handheld will of course already carry the new $169.99 price tag by then, while Nintendo will also be releasing Star Fox 64 – 3D that same day.
“Nintendo 3DS is poised to be on fire for the holidays, with its new suggested retail price, great games and our new Flame Red color,” said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. “With major upcoming releases in the Star Fox, Pokémonand Mario series, in addition to downloadable offerings from Nintendo eShop, Nintendo Video and Netflix, the system offers new and fun experiences to owners on a daily basis.”
Super Mario Land 3D will be released in November while Mario Kart 7 is expected to be available in December.
