GotGame’s Madden Community

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce myself. I’m AJ Dellinger, a writer here at GotGame. But from here on out, you can just call me the Commissioner. I’ll be heading up GotGame.com’s inaugural Madden NFL 2012 Xbox Community, where our writers, readers, and viewers will step out onto the virtual turf and play to prove their superiority. If you’re reading this, you’re invited.

What is a Madden Community?
One of the new features that EA Sports has added to Madden NFL 12 is online communities. This gives up to 2,000 gamers a place to gather and play with their own rules and leader boards. This enables us at GotGame to play with our community and have our own little competition within the world of Madden.

Why Should You Join?
Aside from the obvious reason of getting to play Madden with your favorite gaming site in the whole world, there’s some nice perks for anyone who joins in. If you’re looking for your domination on the field to manifest some awesome prizes on your doorstep, you want to join this league. We’ll be doing awards to commemorate the best of the best week in and week out. Plus, if you want to see your highlights called by a guy who is pretending to be a sportscaster, this is the place for you. Every week when awards are announced, I’ll be hosting a highlight and wrap up show that will include the best moments of the past week’s games, as submitted by community members. Who knows, that one handed grab in the corner of the end zone as time expires may just land you a prize itself. You’ll also get a tight-knit community with built in means of communication with the on-site forums.

Alright, I’m Sold. How Do I Join?
You should make sure you’re registered on GotGame.com, then head over to the Madden 12 Community group (coming soon) in the forums. Post in the thread labeled “Join Here” to announce your presence in the community and share your XBox Live gamer tag. Once you’re in, you’ll be messaged on GotGame with the password to join the community on Xbox Live. Then it’s simply game on. The group won’t go live until the game drops, but head over to this thread and lets get hyped up and slap high fives. Also if you post in the thread, we’ll make sure you’re first up on the invite list once the group and community are up.

Are There Any Requirements I Have to Meet?
None whatsoever aside from joining GotGame.com. Everything else is up to you. If you want to play one game a week or fifty games a week, that’s all on you. You might miss out on certain prizes if you aren’t active, but we’ll be doing our best to make sure even people who can’t play every day get a shot at some rewards.

How Will the Show Work?
I’ll pop up on the GotGame news feed once a week with the community update. There will be a recap of the movers and shakers within the league, a little highlight show, and then some prizes awarded. If you win a prize, you’ll be notified of it via the GotGame messaging system. Just watch my pretty face and hope to see me call your name.

What Will the Prizes be For?
We know we’ll be rewarding the best plays as well as best winning percentage after meeting a minimum amount of games played to qualify. Aside from that, we’ll be giving away prizes for different achievements throughout the season. We don’t want to give away too much yet (at least not until we figure it out first). All you really need to know about the prizes is that you are definitely going to want them.

More will be revealed as we approach the release of the game, but for now just start getting those thumbs loose on the sticks and practice your hot routes because you won’t want to miss any of the action in the GotGame Madden 12 Community.

In case you missed the part about the thread over in the forums, here it is again: http://gotgame.com/groups/online-gaming-lobby//forum/topic/madden-12-community/. Go there already, would you? We’ve got trash talking to do.
