Tera Online Release Date Announced

Getting tired of WoW? Looking for a newer generation MMO? Well, the Korean MMO Tera Online is coming out in Spring of 2012. As an MMO player, I must say that these Korean and Chinese made MMOs definitely look good, as in, the graphics are excellent. None of this overly-cartoony orc business. Just an anime elf or three.

SEATTLE — August 3, 2011 — En Masse Entertainment™, a new publisher built by gamers and focused on delivering fun and innovative online games, announced today that the launch of its award-winning and highly anticipated Action MMO, TERA™, is scheduled for spring 2012.  Development and production continues to both add new features as well as refine confirmed elements to deliver an innovative, action packed experience set in a visually stunning world that can only be discovered in TERA.

“Adding time to our schedule will help us ensure we exceed people’s expectations for TERA,” said Chris Lee, publishing VP of En Masse Entertainment. “The game’s action combat and depth has generated a lot of interest, and we are committed to making sure every aspect of the game lives up to our standard of quality.”

The recipient of several industry honors, including 9 awards and 17 nominations coming out of E3 2011, TERA is a new class of game that combines all the depth of an MMO with the gratification of an action game. Players master their destiny using a pioneering dynamic combat system in which player skill—not just stats—determine success or failure in a richly detailed game world.TERA’s player-driven political system allows individual player actions to influence a world where old rivalries are erased, and disparate races must form a common federation to stave off destruction by marauding monsters and warring gods.

Game looks really good, but not sure if i want this over Old Republic

      Old republic < Tera

      Why?

Obviously Tera has better graphic, bigger map, good story line, more classes and jobs

and better then shooting unrealistic laser beams at each other while another laser sword can reflect it -__-? (like the movie) maybe you should stick to watching Naruto forever =]

Unrealistic laser beams? As opposed to conjuring ice or fire from your hands?

My bet – is that we will see people shooting laser guns, far before we see someone master the magical properties of the elements, weilded through chants and staves and wands.

        Just sayin –

As for Tera. If it is going to be item mall and not pay to play, then I won’t play it. Too bad too, because it looks like a fun game. But I refuse to purchase digital swords and armor.

Game economies, crafting – are runied by item malls. Same price for everyone to play with the same cosmetics, gear, available through accomplishment, not through a Visa Card.

@thebearjew @hahaname @athmaus Why not get Guild Wars 2? Seriously, check it out. Personally think it’s much better than Tera and SWTOR.

How much is Guild Wars 2? Monthly sub? How does it play like?

My friend has been talking about this game for a while and, if I recall correctly, you just pay for the game itself. After the initial purchase, there is no recurring payment.

Hmm..Interesting. I might pick it up when I have nothing else to play but I’ll probably get SWTOR before Guild Wars 2.
