Witcher 2 Delay Announced, Gamers Weep

CD Projekt RED’s Witcher 2 is getting pushed back from a late 2011 to an early 2012 release, according to a press release from the company.

The company seems optimistic that this delay will give them time to polish the game for the consoles, continuing their insistence that the game is an adaptation rather than a port. Legal issues seem to be the main cause of delay, and if they continue CD Projekt RED may just polish a hole through the game while waiting to release it.

The legal dispute that has been shelving this game for some time now has come from Namco Bandai, who has taken issue with the developer’s decision to partner with THQ for console distribution. Step away from the game, Namco, or you may find yourself on the wrong end of a gamer-led witch hunt.
