Capcom Partners Up With Sanrio To Bring Street Fighter x Hello Kitty Merchandise

Capcom has announced that they will be partnering up with Sanrio to bring forth what seems like a bizarre mix of Hello Kitty and Street Fighter merchandise. Although nothing has been said on what they’ll be bringing out, you can probably expect some of the Sanrio characters like Badtz Maru, and Hello Kitty decked out in your favorite Street Fighter outfits.

“Capcom has long admired Sanrio and their ability to create memorable and cherished lifestyle brands so it is a distinct pleasure to partner with them for this new cross-over line of merchandise,” Said by Capcom’s Director of Licensing, Joshua Izzo. “The combination of Street Fighter and Hello Kitty will offer fans a whole new way to experience our characters.”

“We are always looking for new ways to surprise our fans and partnering with a strong brand-focused company such as Capcom is a natural fit for us,” said Sanrio marketing VP Jill Koch. “Hello Kitty and Street Fighter have a dedicated core following around the world and our collaboration brings the legacy of both brands together in a fun and unexpected way.”

Street Fighter Hello Kitty merchandise will be found in stores Fall 2012.

Sounds… kind of awkward. Not as crazy of a twist as tokidoki x capcom, but who knows? Some people might like this.

I’m not going to lie, I’d probably buy a badtzmaru dressed up akuma doll.
