Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy Type-0, the latest installment in the continually expanding (and increasingly nonsensical) Fabula Nova Crystallis mythos, will be available this fall. But don’t put aside your plans and start charging your PSP yet – the October 13 release date is for Japan only. And there are no plans to release the game in the west yet. But at least it’s coming out, right?
Not just a new “major arcana” release in the FF series, Type-0 promises to be massive, spread across two UMDs. A rarity in the PSP world, the price tag also looks different. Retailing at $97.62, more than $30 above average, the RPG banks on the Japanese interest in the PSP. Given the lack of relative attention given to the system in the States, the official word on the foreign release is simply that no final choices have been decided upon.
Final Fantasy Type-0 might still be brought overseas if interest is high enough. So convince your friends to buy more games in the series if you want to see Type-0 come overseas. Until then, prepare to buy it as an import and start saving your pennies now.
