We reported the rumor yesterday of a possible HD remake of GoldenEye007: Reloaded after leaks of what appeared to be PS3 or Xbox 360 screenshots for the game and today, Activision has officially let the cat out of the bag and announced that GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is indeed in development for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
The game is being slated for a fall release and will include Sharp Shooter peripheral support for the PlayStation 3.
“We are beyond ecstatic to debut GoldenEye 007: Reloaded to the millions of fans who have been clamoring for it to arrive on Sony and Microsoft home consoles,” said David Oxford, Executive Vice President at Activision Publishing. “And now with full PlayStation Move functionality, 007 fans all around the world can play the game in full HD in more ways than ever before.”
Aside from the main story campaign, the game will introduce new “Mi6 Ops Missions’, which are distinct levels and completely separate from the campaign that add environments from the story and offer up Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense objectives.
As for multiplayer, four-player split screen action returns as well as 16-player online matches with more maps, weapons, characters and game modes.
