New Game of Thrones:Genesis Screens

by on July 12, 2011

Fans of George R. R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones and the hit HBO series will be eager to see the four new screen shots of the upcoming game A Game of Thrones: Genesis released today from Cyanide Studio. They depict the game’s own imagining of the world of Westeros, which does not appear to take influence from the art style of the TV series. The recently posted website describes Genesis as a strategy game which will support 8 player combat as well as a single player campaign overseen by George R. R. Martin himself depicting the founding battles of the continent. Is it just me or do the graphics look a little underwhelming? I suppose it’s still in its early stages, and Battle for Middle Earth turned out to be pretty good despite initial concerns. Now I need to know: can I choose the White Walkers as a playable race?

I hope there are minigames: A Game Of A Game Of A Game Of Thrones.
Also, is it supposed to look like Riven-era CG sometimes? That disturbs me, but you did cover the divide present in BfME so I guess I can sleep.
