Dark Souls is Demon’s Souls but Better
Dark Souls, spiritual successor to Demon’s Souls is scheduled to release October 4 of this year. Anyone who has played From Software’s last game already knows how beautiful the graphics were, and how incredibly hard the game was and, if you are like me at all, you’re quite eager to be further punished in their upcoming game.
Dark Souls will have elements that veterans of the last game are familiar with, though this is not a sequel. Players will find things like the dark story, intense dungeons, and online interaction similar to Demon’s Souls.
Be prepared to die. A lot. The developers have promised more death, as players learn what to do and how, and then continue forward to die again. Players will probably die more than the last game, as From Software has promised that Dark Souls is even more challenging than before.
Also promised is the return of the unique brand of multi-player found in Demon’s Souls. Players will be able to interact with others, as well as learn from their deaths as well as the new Beacon Fire, which will allow players to interact more directly.
Dark Souls is shaping up to be a more beautiful, more difficult, more rage-inducing game than we’ve seen from this developer before. On the one hand, I am excited to see what this new title will hold. On the other hand, Demon’s Souls is probably one of the hardest and most exhausting games I have ever played. Even still, I have every intention of picking up Dark Souls when it comes out.
