Hot on the heels of information on Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas DLC, the fine, fine, super fine people at Bethesda Softworks® have announced today that a new game is under development. Dishonored may have been in the ZeniMax® bank for a while, but now the first-person game (only described as being “action” and “stealth”) is now in the process of being made by Arkane® Studios.
The Bioshock 2 studio, which was acquired by ZeniMax in 2010, has also announced that two creative directors will be working together on Dishonored. Featuring the talents of Deus Ex lead designer Harvey Smith and Arx Fatalis lead designer Raphael Colantonio, the forthcoming game has been confirmed for a 2012 release date on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows proper under the Games For Windows umbrella.
Speaking on the exciting news, Colantonio said,
“At Arkane we have a passion for creating deep, immersive game experiences. To be able to finally share details of our project is both extremely exciting and satisfying.”
Not as satisfying as the release of this game will be given the people at work. With more news already revealed for GameInformer, Dishonored is shaping up to be yet another highly anticipated Bethesda game, showing the company to be one of the most formidable sets of developers yet.
