Harmonix Copyrights Vidrhythm

Gear up the rumor mills, for game developers at Harmonix have officially filed for trademark status (with intent to use) for the name “Vidrhythm.” This move may be somewhat unsurprising for the people responsible Guitar Hero and Dance Central, but, fresh on the heels of a final push for Dance Central 2 AND Rock Band add-ons, the trademark stirs up things a bit and could even mean one of the promised Nintendo 3DS or PlayStation Vita projects theoretically.

Given their history with rhythm-oriented games and lack of portmanteaus, Vidrhythm could be anything from what its name suggests to a bizarre Elite Beat Agents game for all we know. At the very least, Harmonix seems to have decided that their comfort zone needs to be expanded to allow for titles that don’t merely give away the entire game setup in two words. Now who wants to start hedging bets for what this game is?
