Warnerbros Interactive and Snowblind have released information on who gets what for pre-ordering the upcoming Lord of the Rings: War in the North (coming out in Fall 2011 to PC, XBOX 360 and PS3) as well as revealing a $130 Collector’s Edition which comes with an exclusive Ranger quiver, artbook, DVD on the making of the game’s music, and three songs off of the official soundtrack for the game. In addition, PS3 users will be granted access to a downloadable “War in the North Theme Pack,” and XBOX users get a Ranger of the North avatar for Xbox live.
If you don’t order the $130 collector’s edition but choose to pre-order the standard edition of the game, then you still get some digital goodies:
Amazon.com is offering Part two of the War in the North Digital Comic written by Brian Wood, illustrated by Simon Coleby and produced by DC Entertainment. There’s also an in-game Orc Champion sword.
Pre-ordering from Best Buy gets you an Elf Theme Pack – Elven sword, armor and helmet, as well as access to the Lothlórien Challenge map.
If you pre-order your copy from GameStop, you get a Human Theme Pack – Human sword, armor and battle attire of the Human Ranger and Access to the Osgiliath Challenge map.
Target offers three “exclusive” tracks from the War in the North soundtrack.
Toys ‘R’ Us pre-orders come with a limited edition, signed War in the North poster by Jim Lee, and access to parts one and two of the War in the North Digital Comic at launch.
Finally Walmart pre-orders come with a Dwarven quest line and the Dwarf Theme Pack- dwarf sword, armor and helmet.
Talk about carpet bomb marketing. That quiver looks awesome though!
