I’ve got to admit, I’m a sucker for Point ‘N Click adventure games. I love those old Sierra days. We had so many great and amazing adventures back then! But is this genre all dead and forgotten? Well, not if Daedalic Entertainment has anything to say about it!

As of today, we can get a glimpse for ourselves of Daedalic Entertainment’s new game ‘A New Beginning’, since they just released a English demo for it. The game has been out for a while now in Germany, and has gotten a good deal of praise. It promises to be an existing, cinematic adventure, full with interesting puzzles to wrap our heads around. The game also sports an interesting, hand drawn comic book like art style, which makes it stand out as an artistic game too.

Just enjoying the view!

The story in the game revolves around the imminent doom of our fair planet by absolute climate chaos. To prevent this, a team is send back 500 years to prevent this from ever happening. But something goes wrong, which leaves just two team members who’ll be able to do something: Fay, who seeks a peaceful solution, and Salvador, who just wants to get the job done, no matter what!

The story so far sounds really intriguing and I for one am really looking forward to this. Will it be good? Well, to get a taste of it, go and download the demo and see for yourself how it holds up. I know that I will do just that, after I post this article! The demo features the prologue and parts of the first chapter, so we should be able to get a good idea of the gameplay.

You can download the demo for A New Beginning HERE.

The full game is now available in retail stores throughout Europe, with Lace Mamba as the publisher. With the retail copy, you not only get the game, but also the soundtrack on audio CD and a poster. For just €30, that sounds like a pretty nice deal to me!
